Shaun Brits developed a keen interest in business and numbers when he managed an up-and-coming pub in the north of London, called The Orange Tree. That is where he learnt how to analyse the cost of products and services and how to make a profit.
This experience motivated him to study Accounting when he returned to South Africa. He enrolled for a program called The Institute of Certified Bookkeepers and received his National Diploma in Technical Financial Accounting. After 11 months of job hunting, the Certified Master Auditors Inc.(CMA) agreed to employ him on condition that he obtain his degree in Accounting.
After four years he completed his South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) articles, and Accounting degree. Then he worked at Select PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) an international company. He was the lead Accountant for the Retail division and the Zambia Company, and he also assisted with 10 other companies in the group.
The extensive knowledge and experience he acquired at CMA and Select PPE motivated him to start his own business, CIH Professional Accountants in 2018.
CIH stands for Civitas (Latin for community) Investment Holdings.
Why Holdings? Because the idea is to expand in a community of companies assisting small and medium companies and people to greatness.
